In Memory of Clara Krol, daughter of Polish Museum of America founder Joseph Kania
Event Description
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Clara G. “Claire” Krol (née Kania), beloved daughter of Joseph L. Kania, past President of the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America (PRCUA) and founder of the Polish Museum of America (PMA).
Mrs. Krol passed away on June 10, 2026, at the age of 101. Born in Detroit, Michigan, she spent most of her life on Chicago’s Northwest Side and remained deeply devoted to her faith and family. She was known for bringing generations of family together, her dedication to her parish communities, and her warm, generous spirit. Following in her father’s footsteps, she remained a steadfast supporter of the Polish Museum of America and its mission to preserve and celebrate Polish and Polish American heritage.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Polish Museum of America: Donate
