About the Institution

The Maria Skłodowska-Curie National Research Institute of Oncology is a specialized oncology center of national significance, headquartered in Warsaw. The Institute combines clinical activities with advanced scientific research in the field of oncology, supporting the development of modern methods for cancer diagnosis and treatment.

The Institute operates in several locations, including two complexes in Warsaw and branches in Kraków and Gliwice. This allows it to serve as one of the key reference centers in Poland for the treatment of cancer diseases.

Profile of Activities

The National Institute of Oncology focuses on comprehensive care for patients suspected of or diagnosed with cancer. It combines the functions of a specialized hospital with scientific research activities, developing and implementing modern standards of oncological procedures.

The scope of activities includes, among others: – imaging, laboratory, and pathomorphological diagnostics using modern methods, – surgical treatment of cancers, – radiotherapy, – chemotherapy and systemic therapy, – outpatient care in specialized oncology clinics.

As a state research institute, the center also conducts scientific projects, participates in national and international research initiatives, and co-develops guidelines and programs related to cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment.
