Polish American Folk Dance Company is the oldest Polish diaspora folk dance group in New York. It was founded in 1938 by Frances Wesołowską-Popławska at the Polish Workmen's Aid Fund. It has been operating in Greenpoint since 1969.
The group has an adult team, a children's team, and its own band. The wardrobe contains over six hundred traditional costumes from various regions of Poland.
Achievements
The debut at the Lincoln Center took place in 1970. In 1980, the group received the Oskar Kolberg Award.
Pulaski Parade
The group marches in the Greenpoint contingent with a sound truck.
