Polska Szkoła im. Marii Skłodowskiej-Curie w Tarpon Springs has been continuously operating since 1993. The school is located at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 715 East Orange Street, Tarpon Springs, FL. The institution is dedicated to Polish American children and youth, offering language, history, geography, and religion education.

Educational Offerings

The school offers classes on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with religion lessons from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The offered groups include preschool (4-5 years), kindergarten, grades I-VII, dual-language class, and three-year high school with Polish matura. Additionally, the school provides preparation for First Communion, Confirmation, and classes for Seal of Biliteracy and World Language Comprehensive Exam in Polish.

History

The school was founded in 1993 by parents and supported by Klub Polonia, Inc. Initially, classes were held in various locations, and since then, the school has been using classrooms at St. Ignatius of Antioch Roman Catholic Church. The first director was Jarosław Szwejkowski. The school actively participates in Polish American life, organizing performances and cultural events.

The school employs qualified teaching staff who focus on the language and cultural development of students. The school collaborates with the local parish and Polish American organizations, contributing to the community's life.

Special Projects

The school launched the first high school with a Polish matura on Florida, which started operating in the 2026/2027 school year, offering a three-year curriculum culminating in a Polish matura exam.
