Looking for an apartment in Queens – social worker from Toronto

I am new to the city, I moved from Toronto (in Ontario) to take a full-time job as a social worker at the Legal Aid Society in Queens. I am looking for an apartment with one or two bedrooms, available from September 1. I am a single person, earning nearly $100,000 (I have a guarantor), I keep things tidy and I am a quiet tenant; I can provide references from previous landlords upon request.
