Role Description: The finisher role is a full-time, on-site position located in Brooklyn, NY. The person in this position will be responsible for preparing, finishing, and refurbishing cabinets and furniture, including: – sanding, – staining, – painting, – applying protective coatings to achieve specified colors and finishes.

Daily tasks include: – mixing and applying stains and other finishes, – inspecting items for quality, – making corrections or repairs as needed.

Compensation: Working hours are 45-55 hours per week with pay at 1.5x for hours over 40 hours per week and additional benefits. With overtime, earnings can be expected to be $95,000-110,000 per year.

Requirements: – experience working with furniture and cabinets, including preparation, finishing, and refurbishing, – knowledge of paints, stains, and coatings, and practical experience in painting and finishing processes, – proficiency in using power and hand tools commonly used in finishing, – ability to train and share best practices with colleagues regarding finishing methods, safety, and equipment use, – strong attention to detail, color matching skills, and commitment to high-quality workmanship, – knowledge of workshop safety procedures and ability to follow instructions and technical specifications, – physical ability to stand, lift, and handle materials throughout the workday, – 5-10 years of prior experience in cabinet finishing, furniture production, or related woodworking fields.
