Repair Shop Manager – Air and Water Heat Pumps

We are one of the leading companies in the city specializing in the service and replacement of air/heat pumps with our own repair shop that rebuilds and repairs air and water heat pumps for our clients. We need a strong leader to guide our team.

Responsibilities: – Overseeing the daily operations of the repair shop and being responsible for its efficiency, quality, and effectiveness. – Maintaining contact with clients, informing them about the status of repairs, and coordinating pickups and deliveries. – Supervising all workshop operations: intake, diagnosis, repair, testing, and delivery. – Overseeing, planning, and directing workshop technicians; setting daily priorities and maintaining workflow. – Inspecting and verifying repairs to ensure that devices leave the workshop fully operational. – Identifying bottlenecks and improving workflow, turnaround time, and efficiency. – Managing parts inventory and coordinating orders with the office. – Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and safety in the workshop. – Training technicians and correcting poor practices on an ongoing basis. – Reporting workshop results to the owners.

Requirements: – 5+ years of experience in mechanical or HVAC repairs; experience with air or water heat pumps is preferred. – 2+ years of experience leading a team in a workshop, service, or industry. – Ability to diagnose refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical issues and assess the quality of others' work. – Strong leader who sets expectations, holds people accountable, and keeps the workshop fully operational. – Organized and comfortable managing schedules, inventory, and multiple tasks simultaneously. – Clear, professional communicator in phone and in-person conversations with clients and employees. – Preferred EPA 608 certifications. – Knowledge of Spanish – a big plus in our workshop. – Experience with workshop management or dispatch software. – Familiarity with major air pump brands (GE, Amana, LG, Friedrich, Simon-Aire).
