Role Description:
The position of furniture finisher is a full-time, on-site position located in Brooklyn, NY. The person in this role will be responsible for preparing, finishing, and refurbishing cabinets and furniture, including sanding, staining, painting, and applying protective coatings to achieve specific colors and finishes.

Daily tasks include:
– Mixing and applying stains and other finishes
– Inspecting items for quality
– Making repairs or touch-ups as needed

Compensation:
Working hours range from 45 to 55 hours per week with a pay rate of 1.5x for hours over 40 hours per week and additional benefits. With overtime, earnings can be expected in the range of $95,000-$110,000 annually.

Qualifications:
– Experience working with furniture and cabinets, including preparation, finishing, and refurbishing
– Knowledge of paints, stains, and coatings
– Practical experience in painting and finishing processes
– Proficiency in using power and hand tools commonly used in finishing
– Ability to train and share best practices with colleagues regarding finishing methods, safety, and equipment use
– Strong attention to detail, color matching skills, and commitment to high-quality workmanship
– Understanding of safety procedures in the workshop and ability to follow instructions and technical specifications
– Physical ability to stand, lift, and handle materials throughout the workday
– 5-10 years of prior experience in cabinet finishing, furniture manufacturing, or related woodworking fields.
