Introduction
Poles in Australia form a large and dispersed community — it is estimated that there are over 200,000 people of Polish descent. The main concentrations are in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, and Adelaide. The Polish diaspora has a long history — from waves after World War II (DP), through the Solidarity emigration in the 1980s, to more recent economic waves.
