Event Description
On September 29, we had the pleasure of welcoming Czarakcziew/Kowal Duo to The Polish Museum of America! Paweł Czarakcziew and Piotr Kowal, musicians associated with the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków, specialize in discovering and performing outstanding but lesser-known music of the 20th and 21st centuries. Both are laureates of international cello and piano competitions and perform actively as soloists and chamber musicians. During their visit, our guests explored the PMA’s collections and shared with us their expertise and knowledge of music and musical instruments. We especially enjoyed our conversation about Ignacy Jan Paderewski, his remarkable legacy, and the history preserved in our Paderewski Room. In addition, Piotr Kowal sat down at the historic Steinway piano in the Paderewski Room and played for us, making the visit all the more memorable. Thank you, Czarakcziew/Kowal Duo, for the wonderful visit, conversation, and music!
