Who are they
Krakowianki i Górale is the oldest group operating at the St. Stanisław Kostka Parish in Greenpoint. The ensemble was founded in 1938; it celebrated its eighty-fifth anniversary in December 2023.
It consists of two children's groups – a younger one aged four to eleven and an older one above twelve. The ensemble has costumes from ten Polish regions.
History
Krakowianki i Górale performed at the World's Fair in New York in 1964-1965 and at the White House for President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1968. In 1972, they performed at the opening of the American Museum of Immigration on Liberty Island.
Pulaski Parade
The ensemble marches annually as part of the Greenpoint contingent.
